Careers in Retail and Business
Would you like to purse an exciting career pushing ideas forward and contributing to the economy? Could you convince people to buy a product? Do you have innovative ideas, or do you enjoy organising and structuring activities? All businesses and companies, whatever area they are in, require people with the skills and know-how that will ensure deadlines are met, and projects are brought through to completion.
Retail and business careers tend to be associated with a work-hard, play hard attitude and in many cases this is true. Companies may expect their employees to work long hours and commit a lot of time and effort to the role, but in return they often pay well.
In many roles in this area, a degree is vital to get onto a higher rung of the career ladder, and often can lead to graduates going in at a management level, but there is a huge range of roles. Your ability to succeed could be based on your interest in fashion and your creative eye, or your understanding of human psychology which makes you good at convincing people to buy, or supporting people in teams.
Regardless of the short-term ups and downs of the economy, house sales, and shopping trends, we will always need people who can get the essentials and luxuries of life into the market place, and ensure our economy improves for all of our benefit, hopefully doing so with integrity and flair!
